Why did the UK have the biggest empire?

The British Empire was in fact the largest in history, owning up to 1/5th of the world's land mes (excluding Antarctica). There was a time when Britains had stones, and knew how to fight. They were once fearless in battle. Now all the men are gay and nearly all of its terrirtories lost. World War 2 played a significant part in that.
