Emt/ paramedic in the army?

i am almost 19 years old and i am on track to become a firefighter, i already have my firefighting certification and will have my EMT-Basic card by feb 2010, then the plan is to go on and recieve my paramedic card, my thoughts are if i dont have a job by the time im thru with medic school that i will go into the army and become an army medic, seeing that i have a dad and older brother that served, my question is aimed at people who have served in the military primarily as medics, what would the army think of someone who was already either a nationally registered EMT or Paramedic
