Shouldn't tax "laws" be changed or even obsolete?

I would like to see our tax laws change in order to incorporate socialized medicine. I would rather pay a little more and know that I am covered in some by health care. I am a healthy 45 year old woman and because of an ear infection, I have been turned down by insurance company's, it's crazy and scary. Who would have thought, healthy people would be left out of health care?
