My boyfriend has ADHD?

He has trouble controlling his anger & tends to snap easily. I know this has to do with the impulsiveness that is correlated with the ADHD & he is not taking medication, he used to smoke to calm down and it would work to a certain extent but he doesnt want to use that as his aide anymore so im trying to find other means of getting him to calm down & be ok... can you help?
