You did the right thing by quitting they were just using you. Why don't you become a private instructor. The money you earn then goes straight to you. Advertise in local papers or the internet or any saddlery and feed stores and I'm sure you will pick up clients that way. I'm sure people who have horses agisted at other places would ask you to come to them. If you a good teacher then you will be inundated with calls.
