Is it the same old Santa or do they just replace him with a clone after he gets too old and dies?

I never see Mrs. Claus bearing children, and I doubt the elves ascend to his noble cause. Or are the Clauses immortal beings who will only die if a Highlander beheads them? Or...........vampires, anyone?
