How can i convince my doctor that I need pain medication for a hemorraghic ovarian cyst? It is sooo painful!!?

I was diagnosed with a 6cm. hemorraghic ovarian cyst. It is extremely painful and my doctor chose to prescribe a double dose of bc pills to try to stop the uterine bleeding (I had a 3 unit blood transfusion last week having begun with a hemoglobin count of 7, normal is 12) When I asked about pain medication he prescribed a one time script of Tylenol 3. This medication was less than a week's worth of pills and I am in constant tear jerking pain. My mother is an R.N. and she says that asking for stronger pain meds will make the doctor view me as a drug seeker and not take me seriously. I just want to be on my feet again, taking care of my son (2yrs) and getting back to work as our financial situation is precarious at best. How can I get my doctor to listen to me when I tell him that this pain is unbearable without sounding like I am just trying to obtain drugs for pleasure?
