Do all sockets work for all ratchets?

as long as you match the drive on the socket, the square part on the reverse side of it, you are good. if you have 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 with out a ratchet, pick them up, one of each. metric is the measurement of the socket. am 8mm-what ever. hex is the number of sides in that socket. a hex is also known as a six point. you can also find a 4 point, and a 12 point.
